Gary Bubly, MD, MHCI, FACEP is an emergency physician and the Senior Director for Business Development for the Department of Emergency Medicine and Brown Emergency Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He previously served as Medical Director of The Miriam Hospital Emergency Department and then as Vice Chair for Clinical Integration and Innovation for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brown. He is employed by Brown Emergency Medicine (BEM), an academic emergency medicine non-profit group practice staffing five emergency departments in Rhode Island. He serves on the Board of Directors of BEM as Treasurer and has led value-based contract negotiations on their behalf since 2003. He has an interest in health policy and has served as the President of the Rhode Island Medical Society. He co-developed and co-leads a fellowship in Emergency Medicine Healthcare Leadership and Administration at Brown and is Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.

He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1983, University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1987, residency training at Brown and more recently completed the Master of Health Care Innovation program at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. He and his wife live in Somerset and have two daughters.
