Through Advocates Independent Living program, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive the supports they need to thrive independently in the community and at home. Our skilled and compassionate staff support individuals with a range of services to help them achieve their goals.
Our Services
Case managers partner with individuals in the Independent Living Program for up to 15 hours per week to provide assistance in areas such as:
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Shopping
- Budgeting and bill paying
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits
- Medical appointments
- Recreational activities and social opportunities
- Achieving Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals
The Independent Living Program director and manager are on-call 24/7 to assist with urgent needs.
Eligibility
Advocates Independent Living Program serves adults who are 22 and older with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Eligibility and referrals are most often determined by the Department of Developmental Services, which provides funding for the program. Private pay opportunities may be available. Advocates Independent Living program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
