On April 14, Advocates Chief Human Resource Officer Janine Taylor was honored at the 2023 Black Excellence on the Hill event, hosted by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus. The annual event recognizes Black community leaders and changemakers from across the state. The ceremony honoring Taylor and other Massachusetts leaders was held at the Massachusetts State House.
Taylor was nominated by Representative Carmine Gentile of the 13th Middlesex district. She was honored for her work at Advocates; on the Racial Climate Task Force at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School; on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission for the Town of Sudbury; and as a shift leader at the Newton Food Pantry.
