One of Jack’s greatest joys in life is taking long bike rides through backroads, enjoying nature and the beautiful scenery. At age 16, he was inspired to start biking to gain independence. Jack’s dad Kevin views his bike-riding adventures as a sign of Jack’s progress.

For 57-year-old Robert,* his mother Patricia* is his biggest advocate, always working to ensure he has every opportunity to lead a full and happy life. As Robert’s primary caregiver at 99 years old, her fervor and dedication have not diminished.

Many in the Woburn community know Advocates Warren House resident Jim as “backwards Jim.” Jim, whose favorite hobby is “cruising around” town, has been known to push himself backwards in his manual wheelchair. But “backwards Jim” is just Jim lately, since he gained responsibility using his power wheelchair.

Enjoying summer days on Main Street in Hyannis among the surf shops and restaurants, rooting for the home team at a Cape Cod Baseball League game, and frequent visits to the mall is exactly what an active lifestyle in the community looks like for Tina and Advocates’ Shared Living caregiver, Shannon.
