Mackenzie received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Roger Williams University and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College. After graduating, Mackenzie worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission in Boston. She then served twenty-seven months in the United States Peace Corps. In her previous role, Mackenzie was the Jail Diversion Clinician for the Acton, Bedford, Lincoln, Lexington, Maynard, Stow, Concord, Carlisle, and Hanscom Air Force Base Police Departments. Currently, Mackenzie works as the Jail Diversion Clinician for the Lowell Police Department.
