Gabriela earned her master’s degree in social work from Simmons University and completed her bachelor’s in communications with a minor in Spanish at Curry College. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester in Spain, which not only enhanced her Spanish skills but also sparked her passion for working with children. Following her undergraduate studies, Gabriela dedicated two years to AmeriCorps—one year at the Curley School in Jamaica Plain, MA, and another year in Austin, TX. At the Curley School, she collaborated with Tenacity to teach literacy and tennis to children. In Texas, she served as a bilingual tutor with Literacy First, focusing on improving literacy among children. After obtaining her Master’s, Gabriela worked as a Mobile Crisis Clinician for Child and Family Services in Plymouth and New Bedford. She has also gained experience in the substance use field, working in clinic, detox, and outpatient settings. Currently, Gabriela serves as the Co-Response Clinician for the Uxbridge, Blackstone, and Millville Police Departments.
