Advocates Brain Injury Services support adults with acquired or traumatic brain injuries so that they can lead full and meaningful lives in the community. Our range of residential and community supports help each person achieve the greatest level of independence at each stage of recovery. We emphasize helping people actively engage in the communities where they live through recreational, vocational, educational, and social pursuits.
All supports are provided by direct care staff, nurses, and case managers with specialized training and expertise in brain injuries. We take time to consider each person’s unique needs and goals, and we work collaboratively with those we support to customize a plan that works best for each individual.
Services
Residential
Advocates provides a range of supports in homes that have been carefully designed and built/renovated to meet the physical and rehabilitative needs of survivors of brain injury. Warm, welcoming interiors offer a mix of communal space and private rooms or suites. Homes are located in residential neighborhoods with convenient access to community resources, such as bike paths, public transportation, shopping districts, libraries, and health centers. All homes provide round-the-clock staffing and on-site nursing to meet a range of needs.
Our Supported Living Program (SLP), in partnership with Supportive Living Inc., offers three residential communities in Eastern Massachusetts where individuals engage in a range of active pursuits and goals. Learn more about SLP.
Community Services
For adults with brain injury living at home on their own or with family members, we customize services in the community depending on each person’s goals. Supports may include life skills training, recreation, health management, vocational support, and community reintegration. Flexible supports, from as few as 1-2 hours per week to significantly more, vary depending on the level of need.
