Thanks to more than 350 supporters, employees, and community members who came together for Advocates 3rd Annual Fall Gala. Held at the State Room, with captivating sights of the Boston Harbor, the event raised a record-setting $275,000 for Advocates services and programs.

The “Come Together” themed event was hosted by WEEI’s Nick Stevens, and filled with laughter, British Invasion fun, and even a visit from her “Royal Majesty” in costume.

The Autism Alliance’s Glee Club rocked the house with their first public performance, including several of The Beatles hits and an impromptu singalong to Yellow Submarine. For young adults with autism, singing and participating in the Glee Club encourages communication, creativity, problem solving, and most of all, fun.

Advocates president and CEO, Diane Gould, thanked sponsors and guests, commenting with “we all get by with a little help from our friends.” She remarked, “The lyrics of this song, and many others from the British Invasion, really capture what Advocates is all about. Relying on our friends when we are lonely and feeling down. Giving others encouragement when they need to get their feet back on the ground. And believing that everyone needs and deserves somebody to love.”

An energetic live auction capped off the night and included tickets to court-side Celtics seats, a special wine tasting experience, and the chance to catch baseball’s biggest rivals, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
